Mukesh Ambani replaces Gautam Adani as richest Asian - thanks to RIL rally!

Thanks to heavy buying in Reliance Industries NSE 1.93 % in the last couple of days, in which promoters hold 50.66 per cent stake, the wealth of Mukesh Ambani spiked about $3.6 billion on Thursday alone, making him the richest Indian and Asian once again.

Ambani – who is now the eighth richest in the world -- replaced Gautam Adani, who slid to the ninth position. Ambani is worth $99.7 billion while Adani is worth $98.7 billion as of Thursday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Ambani will most likely cross the $100 billion mark on Friday if the share price of Reliance Industries – which is up nearly 3 per cent as of 12.45 pm – maintains its gain. His wealth has already increased by $9.7 billion year-to-date.

On Friday, Reliance Industries once again hit Rs 19 lakh crore market capitalisation landmark as the scrip extended its gaining streak.

RIL

shares zoomed to Rs 2,816.35 level, just a couple of percentage points below its 52-week high of Rs 2,855 scaled on April 24, 2022.

Analysts are also upbeat on shares of Reliance Industries. The consensus rating on the stock is Buy with target in the range of Rs 1,850-3,253. Median target – Rs 2,845 -- is around the current price of the shares.
Adani Group of companies have seen some selling recently due to decrease in weightage in MSCI indices, which is reflected in Gautam Adani’s tally. Even then, his wealth has increased $22.2 billion so far this year.

Among other top richest Indians are Azim Premji ($28.7 billion), Shiv Nadar ($25.9 billion), Lakshmi Mittal ($20.1 billion), Radhakishan Damani ($19.6 billion), Uday Kotak ($14.8 billion) and Dilip Shanghavi ($14.5 billion).

Globally, Tesla and SpaceX’s founder Elon Musk remains the richest person in the world with net worth at $227 billion, which is after a $42.9 billion reduction in his wealth this year so far. Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos is worth $149 billion. He is followed by Bernard Arnault ($138 billion), Bill Gates ($124 billion), Warren Buffett ($114 billion), Larry Page ($106 billion) and Sergei Bin ($102 billion).
