Brigade Hotel Ventures appoints Vinay Gupta as new CEO, shares up 1%

Shares of Brigade Hotel Ventures were trading higher in opening trade on Tuesday after the company appointed Vinay Gupta as Chief Executive Officer.

The stock was trading at Rs 60.05 on the NSE, up Rs 0.82 or 1.38 percent as of 10:49 am.

Gupta's appointment comes at a significant stage in BHVL's journey, Nirupa Shankar, Managing Director, Brigade Hotel Ventures, said, adding that his "proven track record in driving business growth, scaling operations, and creating long-term value" will be instrumental as the company focuses on its next phase of expansion.

"With his strategic vision and deep industry expertise, I am confident Vinay will make a meaningful contribution to BHVL's continued success and growth. We have known Vinay for the past 20 years, as he was the first GM of our first hotel. Him coming back as CEO is a full circle moment for us," Shankar said.

Gupta said he looks forward to working closely with the team to build on the organisation's strengths, with the main focus on delivering "a world-class hospitality experience while catering to the evolving needs of our guests and the market."

Previously, Gupta was associated with InterGlobe Hotels & Accor, where he led the transformation and repositioning of a 22-hotel portfolio. He also headed a portfolio of more than 25 hotels across India for SAMHI, with Marriott, Hyatt and IHG as brand partners.

Gupta has also held multiple General Manager roles across India and Australia with Hilton, Accor and Mirvac, and earlier held leadership roles in the UAE, the UK and Australia.
