Stocks to Watch


NLC India


The company’s joint venture with UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam has started coal production at the Pachwara South coal block. The block has extractable coal reserves of 264.84 million tonnes, with a normative mining capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum and an average coal grade of G10.


Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power (NUPPL), a joint venture of NLC India and UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam with a 51:49 equity shareholding, is establishing a 3x660 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Plant at Ghatampur. To meet the fuel requirements of the said power plant, the Pachwara South coal block was allotted to the company by the Ministry of Coal.


GR Infraprojects


The company has emerged as the L1 bidder for an NHAI project worth Rs 1,453.57 crore in Gujarat. The project involves the upgradation of an existing two-lane carriageway to a four-lane carriageway.


Additionally, the company has received a contract worth Rs 413.37 crore from NTPC for the implementation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station, including services, ex-works (India) supply, and comprehensive annual maintenance for the entire design life of the BESS system.


RailTel Corporation of India


The company has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) worth Rs 444.44 crore from the Centre for E-Governance. The order involves a request for proposal for the selection of a system integrator for KSWAN 3.0.


Additionally, it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth Rs 13.03 crore from the Mumbai Port Authority for SITC and O&M of a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) for its hospital and dispensaries.


Deepak Builders and Engineers India


The company has emerged as the L1 bidder for a residential infrastructure project at the Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex Township of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in Haryana.


The total project value stands at Rs 474.25 crore. Upon formal award, its total order book is expected to scale up to approximately Rs 2,000 crore.


Coal India


The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Telangana Power Generation Corporation for setting up a 750 MWh (187.5 MW for 4 hours) BESS plant at Choutuppal, at a tariff of Rs 3.14 lakh per MW per month. The project cost is Rs 1,057.09 crore.


Additionally, the company has formed a 50:50 joint venture, DVC CIL Power Private Limited, with Damodar Valley Corporation.


CMS Info Systems


The company has announced the acquisition of the ATM managed services business of Financial Software and Systems (FSS) for Rs 115 crore. The transaction involves the transfer of operating assets and the novation of customer contracts, and is expected to close in Q1 FY27.


Additionally, PPFAS Mutual Fund, through its schemes, acquired 1.5 lakh shares via an open market transaction on March 24, increasing its shareholding to 7.97 percent from 7.88 percent earlier.


NTPC


The board approved the company’s investment proposal for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a total capacity of 4.70 GWh, at an estimated project cost of Rs 5,821.90 crore.


It also approved an additional equity commitment of Rs 3,173.67 crore in Meja Urja Nigam (MUNPL), a joint venture of NTPC and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL), for setting up the Meja Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II (3x800 MW). With this investment, the total equity commitment in MUNPL would reach Rs 5,000 crore.


Additionally, the company’s subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy, has declared COD for 180 MW solar capacity. With this, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group stands at 88,889 MW and the commercial capacity at 87,809 MW.


Dilip Buildcon


The company has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Narmada Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpasar Department, Gujarat, for the construction of a flood protection embankment on the Narmada River. The project cost is Rs 698.49 crore.


KNR Constructions


The company has received a Letter of Award from the National Highways Authority of India for the construction of a four-lane NH-167 stretch from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad–Panaji section under NH(O) on a Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) basis in Telangana. The project cost is Rs 1,734 crore.


Thermax


The company’s subsidiary, Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions, has secured a boiler package supply order valued at Rs 1,600 crore from a thermal power projects company in Central India for a 1x800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant.


Syngene International


Peter Bains has resigned from the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 30, 2026. The board has appointed Siddharth Mittal as an Additional Director, designated as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Executive Committee, effective July 1, subject to shareholder approval.


The board also announced a change in the role of Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw from Non-Executive Chairperson to Executive Chairperson.


Gujarat Fluorochemicals


The company’s subsidiary, GFCL EV, has raised US$ 80 million from a global marquee investor, in addition to US$ 50 million already raised from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).


Aarti Pharmalabs


The United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) conducted an inspection of the company’s Unit-IV in Palghar, Maharashtra, and issued a Form 483 with one observation, which is procedural in nature.


JSW Steel


The company’s subsidiary, JSW Sambalpur Steel, has acquired the steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel (BPSL) by way of a slump sale on a going concern basis.


Ceigall India


The company’s subsidiary, Ceigall Infra Projects (CIPPL), has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India for the construction of a six-lane access-controlled spur connectivity project in Punjab on a Hybrid Annuity Mode basis. The project cost is Rs 603 crore.


JNK India


The company has received a major order worth Rs 300–600 crore from JNK Global Co, Korea, for providing support services and supplies for a cracker furnace package for a refinery project in India.


Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation


The company has sold tea plantations in the Nilgiris for Rs 120 crore.


TVS Holdings


The company has invested Rs 526.79 crore in Home Credit India Finance by acquiring an additional 22.91 crore equity shares, raising its stake to 80.39 percent.


ACME Solar Holdings


The company has received a show-cause-cum-demand notice from the Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax Intelligence, Rajasthan, alleging a GST demand of Rs 149.73 crore for the period from April 2021 to March 2025, along with applicable interest and penalties.


Additionally, through its subsidiary ACME Surya Power, the company has commissioned the third phase of 11.429 MW / 51.354 MWh out of the total 250 MW / 1103.392 MWh BESS project capacity at Bikaner, Rajasthan.


The commercial operation date (COD) for Phase III will be March 31, 2026. With this, ACME Surya Power has achieved a commissioned capacity of 107.143 MW / 481.440 MWh out of the total planned capacity.


Bank of Baroda


The Government of Madhya Pradesh has revoked a five-year ban on Bank of Baroda from conducting state government business within 24 hours of issuing the initial order, according to CNBC-TV18.


The initial order, issued by the Madhya Pradesh Institutional Finance Commissioner on March 27, cited alleged lapses in handling funds under the Chief Minister Kisan Yojana. According to the government letter, approximately Rs 1,751 crore was required to be deposited under a specific treasury receipt head.


Bulk and Block Deals


Mahanagar Gas


The Washington State Investment Board has bought 6.17 lakh shares (equivalent to a 0.62 percent stake) in Mahanagar Gas for Rs 58.7 crore, at a price of Rs 950.42 per share.


Apollo Micro Systems


Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has acquired 18.02 lakh shares (a 0.5 percent stake) in Apollo Micro Systems at Rs 189.58 per share, valued at Rs 34.17 crore.


However, the fund house sold 5.42 lakh shares (a 0.68 percent stake) in Cyient DLM at Rs 278.3 per share, amounting to Rs 15.1 crore.


Arvind SmartSpaces


HDFC Capital Affordable Real Estate Fund-1 sold 4.58 lakh shares (a 1 percent stake) in the company at Rs 509.99 per share, valued at Rs 23.39 crore. However, ASL ESOP Trust bought the same number of shares at Rs 510 per share, amounting to Rs 23.39 crore.


Cube Highways Trust


Financial services firm Spark Financial Holdings has bought 18 lakh units in the infrastructure investment trust from Cube Mobility Investments Pte at Rs 146 per unit, valued at Rs 26.28 crore.
