Continuing his salvo on NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, Nationalist Congress Party minister Nawab Malik on Monday tweeted a screen shot of a NDPS case in which Wankhede's sister-in-law Harshada Redkar is allegedly involved.
Harshada Dinanath Redkar was listed as a 'respondent' in a 2008 case under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in a Pune Court. Malik tweeted, "Sameer Dawood Wankhede, is your sister-in-law Harshada Dinanath Redkar involved in the drug business? You must answer because her case is pending before the Pune court. Here is the proof." Wankhede told a news channel, "I wasn't even in service when the case was registered in January 2008. I married Kranti Redkar in 2017. Then how am I associated with the case anyway?"
Kranti Redkar, Sameer Wankhede's wife, put out a statement saying, "I would like to say that my sister was and continues to be a victim in this case. According to our legal team, it is not prudent to comment as the matter is subjudice."
