Angel One gains around 5% as cons net profit jumps 125%

NEW DELHI – Shares of Angel One added around 5% in early trade Tuesday as the brokerage firm reported a 125 per cent year-on-year growth in consolidated net profit for the December quarter at Rs 165.5 crore.

The revenue from operations grew 94.7 per cent from a year ago to Rs 597.3 crore. The company announced an interim dividend of Rs 7 per share.
The company’s counter rose to a high of Rs 1,421.20 against Rs 1,357 at the previous close on the BSE. After the initial price action, the stock gave up some gains to profit booking and was last trading 1.3 per cent higher.

Sales rose 94.70 per cent to Rs 597.32 crore in the quarter ended December 2021 against Rs 306.79 crore in the previous quarter ended December 2020.
The company's client base rose 6.3 per cent month-to-month to 7.78 million in the month of December 2021, reports said, adding that the year-on-year growth in client base for the month was 144.2 per cent.

The gross client acquisition rose 3.2 per cent month-on-month to 0.46 million in December while the year-on-year growth in gross client acquisition stood at 110.4 per cent.
According to reports, the company's retail turnover market share in the equity segment stood at 20.8 per cent in December 2021 compared to 21 per cent in November 2021 and 18 per cent in December 2020.

The company's retail turnover market share in the Futures and Options segment clocked in at 20.9 per cent in December 2021 compared to 21.1 per cent in November 2021 and 18.1 per cent in December 2020.
