Bharat Bandh Live News, Bharat Bandh Today Latest News: A joint forum of central trade unions has called for a two-day nationwide strike to protest against the Centre’s policies ‘affecting workers, farmers and people’, which began at 6 am today. While the strike called evoked mixed response in West Bengal, banks remained closed in Delhi as PSBs protested against privatisation of banks. The strike is set to have an impact on transport and banking services across the country. The All India Bank Employees Association has announced its support to the strike.
Amarjeet Kaur, All Indian Trade Union Congress General Secretary, told news agency PTI that they are expecting participation of over 20 crore formal and informal workers with mass mobilisation of workers across the country. Several banks, including the SBI, have already statements informing customers that banking services may be impacted on Monday and Tuesday.
The strike call has hit public transport services in Chennai with only 20 per cent buses plying on roads. In Tamilnadu, DMK’s LPF has also extended support to the bandh along with CITU, AITUC, IMTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU and UTUC.

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has announced that it will not participate in the strike. The Sangh said that the upcoming strike was 'politically motivated' and aimed at the survival of selected political parties.
