Har Ghar Tiranga LIVE: From flag hoisting to Tricolour marches, India unites to usher in 75th Independence Day

Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2022 Live: From politicians and political parties to school children, police personnel, and the Indian army itself, the entire India has united for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign with much zeal and zest. The campaign is a part of the initiative – ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which is to commemorate India’s 75th anniversary of independence. Union Minister Amit Shah was seen hoisting the flag with his wife at his residence on Saturday morning. UP CM Yogi Adityanath too flagged off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga yatra’ along with school children at his residence in Lucknow. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday changed the profile pictures of its social media handles to the national flag from its traditional saffron flag. This is an interesting development since the RSS has been criticised by the Congress and other Opposition parties over its stand on the national flag.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is being run ahead of August 15th when the nation will celebrate its 75th Independence Day. It follows an emotional appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 22 last month. The idea behind the campaign is to connect with the masses and infuse a sense of nationalism and patriotism. In a series of tweets last month, PM Modi had urged everyone to hoist the national flag from their homes.

In an absolutely new and one of its kind intitative, Mappls.com has introduced the Mappls Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on mappls.com/tiranga and Mappls app on Android/iOS, to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day.

Users can now see as well as hoist India’s National Flag virtually at their homes in 2D/3D format through Mappls.com/tiranga on the web and Mappls App on Android/iOS. They can also add missing houses to the map by clicking on the option ‘Add a Place’, and then hoist flags on the map of their house. Keeping the privacy factor in mind, one can also hide their names while posting flags.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday changed the profile pictures of its social media accounts to the national flag from its traditional saffron flag. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the people of the country to put the tricolour as their profile picture of their social media accounts between August 2 and 15. The campaign Har Ghar Tiranga is part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations to mark 75 years of India's independence.
