Covid-19, countries, like, South Korea, Hong Kong, Italy, UK, lead spike, in coronavirus numbers, globally

In about a week’s time, as many as 11 million new Covid infections were seen across the world adding to an 8 percent spike in global cases. Besides China, where cities have been put under a strict lockdown, South Korea has added more than 621,000 new infections which is a record in daily cases. That's pushed the national caseload to over 8.2 million, with more than 7.4 million cases added since the start of February. Hong Kong, China, Italy, Britain, Germany also have shown a rise in the number of cases. The World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that this increase is being recorded despite a drop in testing in some countries, which means the cases we’re seeing are just the ‘tip of the iceberg.’ WHO has warned that with many countries changing testing parameters, the drop in testing could lead to many cases going undetected.
